Standard Oil Company was first incorporated in 1870 by John D. Rockefeller and William Rockefeller. Standard Oil handled all aspects of their product, which included production, transportation, refining and marketing. In a few short decades, Standard Oil had become one of the world’s largest corporations; by 1904, Saudi Aramco, Oil company founded by the Standard Oil Co. of California (Chevron) in 1933, when the government of Saudi Arabia granted it a concession. Other U.S. companies joined after oil was found near Dhahran in 1938. In 1950 Aramco opened a pipeline from Saudi Arabia to the Mediterranean Sea John D Rockefeller was the founder of the standard Oil company.
